To participate in the Green Craft Contest, schools were requested to use plastic waste materials and produce crafts. These crafts were assessed and scored by the judges during the contest based on their creativity and their potential to contribute to effectively addressing plastic pollution. The aim of the Green Craft Contest was to bring out creativity from secondary school students to save the environment by innovatively recycling plastic waste, producing innovative crafts from plastic wastes that would have been dumped into the environment.
The contest was keenly contested by 5 secondary schools in Makurdi, namely: Unique Secondary School, NKST Secondary Shool Idye, Cardinal International Academy, Bright Brains Academy and United Evangelical Secondary School. All the schools produced very innovative crafts.
At the end of the contest, Unique Secondary School came first, while Bright Brains Academy and Universal Evangelical Secondary School came 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
